Sal Ruiz joins Strategic Operations as one of our most qualified Lead Instructors. Mr. Ruiz brings over 20 years of experiences in tactical and emergency services and has a vast amount of operational skills in medical, security and investigative disciplines.
Prior to his arrival at Strategic Operations, his previous experience includes emergency medical services for both the City and County of San Diego, disaster response operations for the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response for the US Department of Health and Human Services, numerous fugitive recoveries to include fugitives from the Top Ten Most Wanted.
Sal performed military instruction and training support for the US Department of Defense and allied partners, ambulatory medicine and high threat site security as well as sensitive materials movement for the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Sal also performed both military and civilian airborne security/rescue operations for the California Office of Emergency Services and the Bureau of Diplomatic Security. He was assigned to conduct Diplomatic Close Protection for senior US officials including the Vice President of the United States in May 2007, several ambassadors, as well as several congressional delegations for visits to international areas of armed conflict.
Sal is an instructor in WMD Response and Mitigation, Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings, Emergency Medical Technician (All levels including Tactical and Advanced Tactical), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support and all of it’s variants to include all Tactical Casualty Care model programs, Basic Life Support (CPR); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Sal is a California State Licensed, Nationally Registered and Board Certified Tactical Paramedic. His operational certifications include but are not limited to National Interagency Incident Management System (NIIMS-ICS), Protective Medical Intelligence, Aircraft Interdiction, National Disaster Medical System Disaster Response Operations, Diplomatic Security Service Motorcade Operations, US Department of Defense High Threat Convoy Operations, High Threat Diplomatic Protective Security and Range Safety Officer. Sal’s maritime certifications include Medical Care Provider, Medical Person in Charge and Vessel/Ship Security Officer.
Mr. Ruiz is a Health Sciences Undergraduate at Southwestern College, a member of the Special Operations Medical Association and the National Association of EMTs.
